
Approaching elections November 7, the military junta has enacted several laws that effectively prohibit the Nobel Peace Prize winner to vote.
Elections will be the first in Myanmar since Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD) won a landslide victory in 1990. The junta ignored the election results and throw Suu Kyi under house arrest for 15 years from 21 last year.
Myanmar upcoming elections criticized as fraudulent polls that are designed to perpetuate military junta. Myanmar is under military control since 1962. The last time Myanmar citizens have the opportunity to vote is May 2008 for the constitutional referendum. At that time, Suu Kyi's name does not appear on voter lists
