Berita Lampung Declaration Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions : Jakarta Declaration which established the Association of Asian Constitutional Court and a similar institution (the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions) officially signed by the seven founding countries were present.
"In Asia it was the first. Before this already exists in Latin America, in Europe there are, in the Middle East are also already there. It's not impossible would later learn from each other and draw together our experience with this association," said Chairman of the Constitutional Court Mahfud MD after a signing a declaration at the Court House, Monday (07/12).
According to Mahfud, this association will strengthen each other between the Constitutional Court and similar bodies in Asia. Inclusion of "Equivalent Institutions" due to the Asian countries that do not have the Court but has a similar judicial institutions were also given constitutional jurisdiction.
Court Judge Harjono Jakarta Declaration read out before finally signed by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the seven founding countries. Harjono also conveyed the letter from the Turkish Constitutional Court to the Court of RI who expressed a desire to join the associate member countries approved by the founder.
Declaration signed by Mahfud MD from Indonesia, Dong-Heub Lee from South Korea, Tun Zaki Tun Azmi from Malaysia, Jamsran Byambadorj from Mongolia, Mariano C. Del Castillo of the Philippines, Chut Chonlavorn from Thailand, and Bakhtiyar Mirbabaev from Uzbekistan. One other founding countries, Kyrgyzstan, could not attend the conference this time because he was facing problems and domestic political stability.
